
Capt Steven Trotta
Steven J. Trotta, career pilot with over 41 years, and 27,000 hours of aviation experience. Recently retired as a Boeing 767/757 Captain with extensive international and domestic flight experience.Steve started his aviation career as a US Navy pilot flying Search & Rescue/VIP transport helicopters based in Japan. He then transitioned to fixed wing flight instructing, accumulating over 2000 accident-free hours in the Navy’s Training Command, while on active duty and as a Reservist, retiring as a Navy Commander. During this time, he also was employed as a flight evaluation pilot, testing a collision warning system for BFGoodrich’s Avionics division. His extensive PART 121 experience started in 1988 after being hired by PanAm as a Flight Engineer and First Officer. Hired by United Airlines in 1995, Steve has piloted the Boeing 727,737,757,767,777,and 787 aircraft, before mandatory airline retirement in 2023.Steve’s passion for Search & Rescue and helping others continues with his volunteer position as a Command Staff Deputy Sheriff, responsible for public safety, courtroom security, and drone flight operations under PART 107.
Steve currently serves in a part-time position as a Flight Operations Rep. in the Station Operational Control Center at Dulles International Airport.
