John Sabel

Captain John V. Sabel is an attorney and Airline Transport Pilot with over thirty-three years of flying experience and more than 14,000 flight hours logged. He is currently a Captain on the Airbus A-319/A-320/A-321 with a major air carrier.

John has extensive experience in the airline flight training environment as a Check Airman and FAA Aircrew Program Designee. His airline flying experience includes domestic and international operations throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. He is an active member of the pilot union’s Safety Committee, Accident Investigation Committee and Violations Committee.
John earned his Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science, an Associate in Science in Aeronautical Studies and an Associate in Science in Aviation Management.

He is an adjunct professor in the Aviation Sciences Department at Community College Beaver County. John’s article, Airline-Airport Facilities Agreements – An Overview, was published in the SMU Journal of Air Law and Commerce. He has also been a guest speaker before the Pennsylvania Bar Association Aeronautical and Space Law Committee.

John serves as an expert witness and consultant and represents pilots before the FAA and NTSB in certificate enforcement actions. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
