Captain Blair Mitchel has 28 years and 16,900 hours of accident and incident free aviation experience, including over 20 years as a major airline pilot. During her 20 years with the major’s she has been a line pilot, training center instructor/ evaluator, line check airman, management pilot, and has union experience with the Airline Pilots Association Professional Standards committee.

Captain Mitchel is a domestic and international qualified, Boeing 757 and Boeing 767 captain and check airman current in the following areas, U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, South America, Europe, including Eastern Europe (Russia). She has been a Captain for the past 13 years and has flown as such on the Boeing 737-200, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, and Airbus 320/319. Captain Mitchel has flown as a First Officer on the Boeing 737-300, Boeing 757, and Boeing 767 and has a Flight Engineer turbojet rating acquired on the Boeing 727.

She has written numerous Fleet specific training center and safety articles for her company including articles on; “Predictive and reactive windshear during the approach/landing phase”, “VNAV descents”, “Two- way radio communications failure,” “Altitude Deviations”, and “Landing performance data briefing”.

Blair lives in the South Bend, Indiana area with her spouse and children which includes twin boy/girl. She is an avid Notre Dame Football fan. Blair also enjoys boating, biking, running, tennis, and reading.
